OBJECTIVES
- Provide Boholano individuals and groups formal
education, training, expertise and facilities
in music to enable them to attain their potentials;
- Promote the preservation and appreciation
of Boholano musical heritage as well as classical
and contemporary music;
- Upgrade the capabilities of its trainers and
leaders;
- Source out funding assistance for its programs;
and
- Develop the necessary linkages with local
and foreign institutions for the attainment
of its ends.
HISTORY OF ORGANIZATION
LMFI
was first organized as the Loboc Musical Guild in
1992 as a special project of the Loboc Central Elementary
School Parent-Teachers Association. Since then it
started holding solfeggio classes for children every
summer vacation which was given permit by DECS Region
VII under the Nonformal Education Program. The guild
was converted into a foundation and was ultimately
registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
To undertake its programs and projects, it raises
funds through LGU assistance, donations, sponsorships,
concert proceeds of the Loboc Children's Choir and
grants from government agencies. Organizational
Set-up: It has a Board of Directors from where it
elects the officers from among themselves.
TRACK RECORD
Conducted and
operated music classes in solfeggio and brass band
instrument playing from 1992 to date. Classes are
held at Loboc Central Elementary School during summer.
Local musicians handle the classes.

the Search for the Best Singer of Traditional Filipino/Visayan
Songs ( within the municipality)
1995
Registered

Conducted the Seminar-Workshop for Brass Band
Musicians of Bohol April 26 - 30, 1996 (granted
financial assistance by NCCA)
Sponsored the Concert
of the Loboc Children's Choir dubbed "ON ANGELS'
WINGS - FROM BOHOL TO THE WORLD" - a provincial,
national and US. Tour (granted financial assistance
by NCCA)
1997
Started developing the curriculum

Sponsored the Concert of the UST Orchestra and
Coro Tomasino on May 23, 1998
Sent the conductor
of the Loboc Children's Choir to participate in
the International Choral Festival at the Cultural
Center of the Philippines in July, 1998
1999
Assisted in the research on folk music for central
lowland people (Bohol) of SONIC Orders c/o Dr. Ramon
P. Santos and Prof. Leticia del Valle
Co-sponsored
with DECS Division of Bohol the First Provincial
Music Camp for Children's Choirs on April 7 - 12,
1999 at Loboc, Bohol with 36 groups participating
and the UP Cherubim and Seraphim and Loboc Children's
Choir as anchor choirs with Prof. Elena Mirano of
UP and Mrs. Alma Taldo as anchor conductors
Started
sourcing out funds for the scholarship program
Facilitated in the Summer Encounter of Loboc Children's
Choir and Dimiao Children's Rondalla on April 19

Conducted the First Strategic Planning
Workshop for LMFI Members on October 30, 1999 to
review and evaluate the activities, review VMG statements

Sent
its first music scholar to the Asian Institute of
Liturgy and Music through the scholarship grant
extended by Dr. Francisco Feliciano, then President
of AILM, in the person of Lea Cal.
2000
Conducted
the First Mini-Arts Festival and Competition among
elementary pupils and secondary students in the
public and private schools of Loboc, Bohol in February
Co-sponsored the concert of the Philippine Philharmonic
Orchestra and the UP Singing Ambassadors on July
22-23, 2000 in consonance with the Bohol SANDUGO
Festival
Hosted the UPSA in Loboc on the above
occasion
Assisted in facilitating the trip of
the Loboc Children's Choir to the International
Children's Festival in Culture and Arts on August
6-11, 2000 at Tianjin, Peoples' Republic of China,
with side performances in Beijing and Hongkong
2001
Held the 2nd Arts Festival and Competition
on February 24, 2001
Started its function as a
civil society focusing on cleanliness and environmental
concerns of the town
Sits in the Local Tourism
Committee of the municipality and at Bohol's Sustainable
Integrated Areas for Development
2002
Held the
3rd Arts Festival and Competition on Saturday, February
13, 2002 with a special highlight of a quiz on Loboc
400
Served as the implementor and conduit of the
NCCA grant of P2M for the restoration of the Loboc
Church Pipe Organ
Was granted space at the 3rd
floor of the parish rectory for LMFI office; renovated
it and had it blessed on Sunday, February 10, 2002
(also serves as Family and Life Apostolate Center)
· LMFI office served as the Office of the Secretariat
of Loboc 400
LMFI members actively involved themselves
in the activities of Loboc 400
2003
Observed
the National Arts Month without the arts competition
on individual basis as in the past years, but with
a Seminar-Workshop for Teachers and Cultural Workers
on 5 Saturdays in February and March 2003 on choral
singing and conducting, ukulele and guitar playing,
folk dancing and theater/dramatic arts
Facilitated
in the installation of the restored pipe organ.
Produced the musical, MIGUEL AYATUMO, an NCCA-funded
project to culminate Loboc 400, which had its run
of performances at the Loboc Church on May 25 and
June 27, 2003 and at the Bohol Cultural Center in
July 2003 for DepEd's presentation during the SANDUGO.
2004
Supported its first scholar, Lea Cal a
student of Asian Institute of Liturgy and Music,
in her voice recital on January 3, 2004 at the Loboc
Parish Church.
Facilitated in the inauguration
of the Loboc Pipe Organ with the cooperation and
support of NCCA, BACH on the second Sunday of January,
2004 with the UST Choir and organist Eric Dimson
Hosted Leo and Donna Renier, of the Diego Cera
Organ Foundation, for a week-long seminar workshop
on choral singing and organ playing among selected
participants in the first week of July 2004.
Celebrated
the National Arts Month with a new direction in
the competitions to determine outcome of the 2003
seminar workshop, thus the contest was composed
of the categories in chorus, folk dance, theater,
and ukulele ensemble
2005
Hosted the concert
of 2 Belgian artists, organist Luc Ponet and trumpeter
Manu Maellerts on February 12, 2004 at the Loboc
Parish Church.
In cooperation with DepEd Loboc
District, observed the National Arts Month with
competitions for cultural groups in chorus, dance,
folk dance and theater for elementary and secondary
school students on February 19, 2005.
As support
group to the Loboc Parish Pastoral Council, restaged
the musicale Miguel Ayatumo, on May 21, 2005 as
one nightly cultural presentation for the feast
of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Was given one scholarship
slot for a piano course by the Piano Teachers Guild
of the Philippines, through the courtesy of Sr.
Mary Placid Abejo, Dean, College of Music, St. Scholastica's
College, Manila. After the recruitment process,
LMFI sent George Warloo Calipusan to said school
for a Bachelor of Music course, major in piano at
the opening of the first semester, school year 2005-2006.
